Telehealth NDIS

In Balance Physiotherapy and Fitness (IBPF) is committed to ensuring ongoing support to all our families now and beyond COVID-19 outbreak.

All allied health services are considered essential services, so we will CONTINUE TO DELIVER FACE TO FACE, HOME VISITS AND HAVE ADDED TELEHEALTH to ensure the continuation of therapy for those that are self isolating.

COVID-19 has impacted the way we currently live, but it’s really important to keep to your usual routine as much as possible, and this includes therapy. Cancelling your therapy for even a few appointments may result in regression of your child’s progress and skills.

Telehealth is recommended by the National Disability Insurance Agency, Allied Health Professional Australia, Occupational Therapy Australia, Speech Pathology Australia and Australian Physiotherapy Association.

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is an alternate way of delivering effective evidence-based allied health therapy services. Through the use of a computer or sm art device a secure live, interactive video consult is conducted.

Who can access Telehealth services and is it funded?

All families can access our telehealth services, as long as you have access to a smart device or computer with internet access. Telehealth is funded through NDIS, Medicare and most recently Private Health during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Families can access all our allied health services via telehealth (where appropriate and suitable):

  • Speech Pathology
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Exercise Physiology

How does a Telehealth appointment work?

Telehealth is conducted the same way a regular face-to-face session would be, just in a virtual setting. All of our sessions are delivered via a secure platform and kept confidential. We’ll assist you with step-by-step instructions.

How do I arrange a Telehealth appointment for my child?

It’s easy! If you are a current client, speak with your therapist about the option of transitioning to telehealth services. This could be a short term during the COVID-19 outbreak, or a longer-term approach. Please call our staff to help you get set up on 9622 5335.
