In Balance Physiotherapy and Fitness are offering online Telehealth Consultations for people who are unable to come into the Clinic. It is an enhancement of existing Physio services and best used in conjunction with face to face.
Suitability for telehealth will depend on the condition, severity, stage of recovery and home support. A Senior IBPF Physio will screen you via a pre call to determine if Telehealth is the best option for you.
In Balance physiotherapy is different for its unique Neuroscientific Problem Solving process which can only be done through Face to Face. However once the cause of the problem is identified education on Self Management Strategies, Habit Changes and Exercise Therapy becomes the main focus (Fix it/Tune Up Phases).
Education of Self Management, Behavioural Change Coaching, Exercise Progression and Monitoring can be delivered effectively through Telehealth.

What is Telehealth Physiotherapy?
Telehealth physiotherapy is the delivery of Physio and Exercise Rehab through secure online video consult. IBPF uses a secure encrypted platform called Cliniko.
What can I expect from an IBPF video consult?
Similar to a face-to-face consult, the following can be expected from our video consults:
- An assessment by a qualified physio.
- Clinical impression.
- Written Recommended Action Plan.
- Self-management advice.
- Home exercise program sent in photo and video formats.
- Liaison with your doctor to ensure integrated care.
- Referral for further investigations if required (e.g. X-ray scans).
- Follow up call the next day.
Can I participate in exercise rehab classes online?
YES! Through Telehealth we can provide one on one or group exercise rehabilitation sessions with a focus on relaxation, mobility, balance, strength or conditioning. We advise that the initial consultation be individual.
How do I set up for Telehealth?
Connecting to a video session is as simple as clicking a link that we will send you in an email or text message. To make things even easier, our team has created an easy guide (click here) outlining simple steps to help you prepare for your online consultation and ensure you get the most from your appointment.
We ask you to prepare for your consult by wearing appropriate clothing that enables you to move comfortably as well as allowing us to visualize the body area that is painful (e.g. wearing shorts if you have knee pain).
Is Telehealth supported by Medicare or private heath funds?
